Hong Kong trip 130514-180514 (Day 1)

Hong Kong trip 130514-180514 (Day 1)- The Peak, Madame Tussauds, Avenue of Stars

Second overseas trip with Sy to Hong Kong! 6D5N and time really pass so fast over there. We had fun until we dont wish to come back to reality, especially to work! Haha..
Morning flight at 6.05am so we got to reach airport at 4am
Checked in luggage then went to Starbucks to chill for awhile before we went into Departure

T2

Bye Singapore

And Hello Hong Kong

It was drizzling when we reached the airport

Bought data sim card at 7-11 (HK$98) and tickets for Airport Express Line to the city Kowloon (HK$140 for 2 pax) as well as Octopus card (HK$150 each).
The rate we exchanged for is 6.14

As it was still early to check in and we were hungry, we settled lunch at Kowloon Station- Super Super Yi Zhou Mian.

The food is nice and there's a lot of people dining there as well as the office crowd packing for lunch. Lucky we reached earlier than them :)

And the total bill come out to about S$12. Not too bad!

This is where we waited for our hotel shuttle bus (Dorsett Mongkok) after eating.
Every 1 hour for 1 bus. We boarded the bus at 1.20pm, reached hotel about 1.40pm and we checked in straight because our room is ready so we do not need to wait until 2pm :)

19th floor

There's a phone provided in the hotel room which we can use for wifi, surfing and calls to Singapore for free! However we did not use it because Sy already bought data sim card and there's unlimited free wifi in the room already but to tourists who need internet service, it may be useful to them. Customers can even bring them out of hotel to use and there will be no charges unless you make damages to the phone or lost it.

Changed into shorts and out we go to The Peak
Took the hotel shuttle bus to Mongkok Langham Place and MTR to Central station

Bought tickets for the Peak Tram (HK$80 each)
We realized we forgot to buy tickets for Sky Terrace as it will be cheaper as a package but it was a relief that we forgot :x
Because when we got up to the Peak, there's fog and we totally cant see much.
Although we were quite disappointed that we cant get to see the beautiful scenery at the sky terrace but at least we save the money on that

The tram can get very steep upwards and that's why the tram only go 1 direction up and same direction down. Everybody will lean backwards on their seats at the steep slope

This is a better view of what we get to see before it turn to be like......

this foggy~

Since we cant get to see scenery at sky terrace, we bought tickets to Madame Tussauds

20% discount for Tiger boarding pass holders

Bruce Lee which is outside the entrance so you can take picture with him if you are not going into the wax museum.

 Entry to Madame Tussauds

There's really a lot of famous singers, artistes and characters therefore I will only show some of them here

Huang Xiao Ming

Ruan Jing Tian

Jay Chou

Andy Lau

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Our very own Mr Lee

Einstein
Leon

 Ip Man 甄子丹
古巨基
 Twins

Michael Jackson

X Men
Spiderman
Iron man
Hulk

Sun Wu Kong
Xiao Ding Dang

Sy bought a picture at S$16 because they do not allow own photography with Jackie Chan and the photo turns out to be good so we bought it

When we are done with Madame Tussauds, we went to the top level to take a look at the weather.
It was still foggy like Genting

So we went to indoor to get Tai Cheong egg tarts to eat
S$1 each and it's nice!
We bought 2 different types of crust to try and both are not bad.

Going down the tram~ something clearer

And off to Tsim Sha Tsui to see skyline and Avenue of Stars
Settled dinner at TE quick pasta inside the mall at Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station

Skyline and Avenue of Stars
Caught the Symphony of Lights for few mins actually

 With Bruce Lee!

And that's all for day 1 in Hong Kong!
